Angel praying on the clouds

We`re going to create a fantasy photo manipulation with an angel who is sitting on the clouds and prays.

Along the way,we`ll be using selection techniques, lights and shadows, pen tool and brushes. It`s a simple tutorial but if you have any questions, give me a comment.

This is how my final result looks:

final

Open your Photoshop and make a new document.Mine is 1000x900pixels but you may choose any dimensions you want.

The next step is adding an angel.I find this angel on Google.

angel

Using the Pen tool, cut out the angel from the background and paste it into your file.

You can see that our image has sharpen margins. To smooth them, click on the image layer and add a layer mask(Layer->Layer Mask->Reveal all).Set the foreground color to black and using the Airbrush Soft Round brush, make the margins a little bit smoother.

Now our image should look like this:

To make it more colourful duplicate the layer and set the blending mode for this new layer to Soft light.

Let`s make some clouds.I`ve found some nice clouds on DeviantArt.My opinion is that if you want some nice stuff like brushes or pictures,DeviantArt is the best solution.

Place the clouds on your picture until you get the best result.

My picture looks like this:

We`re gonna make now a divine light coming from the sky.Select the first layer(the locked one) and go to Filter->Render->Lightning Effects and apply the next settings:

We`ve just obtained the final result. Now,our image is ready and looks like this:

final

I hope you enjoy it and have a nice day!

    Hey,

Your site is good. But SEO wise not really great. At least change the permalink structure of the site to make it more SEO and user friendly.

    Best

Very wonderful designs and instructions. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.

When I’ve made a site in photoshop and then tried to use it in Dreamweaver I find it difficult to figure out how to write on the site later? How is this done?

    1. Madalin Tudose on May 22, 2009 at 6:12 am

Hy Evelyn…it`s quite simple to do that…I like coding sites but I`ll give you a link to a great screencast on how to slice a PSD layout and code it.
